One of the big questions in the climate change debate: Are humans any smarter than frogs in a pot? If you put a frog in a pot and slowly turn up the heat, it won’t jump out. Instead, it will enjoy the nice warm bath until it is cooked to death. We humans seem to be doing pretty much the same thing.”

(But let’s be honest, I just found that on Brainyquote while I was trying to think of a good blog name.)
The climate change issue is a murky pond. Beneath the basic stuff we all know about, environmentalists and high-carbon businesses are waging a new cold war over humanity’s future.
Somewhere in the midst of all the politics, science, denialism, commercialism, greed, activism, lobbying, PR, and oh god SO much money in these unpleasant depths is a truthful take-home message about what climate change really is and what normal people can usefully do about it. I’m wading balls-deep into these dark waters to see if I can find it – and maybe overcome my own baked-in Western apathy and take real steps towards living a low carbon life.
A Frog In A Pot is a blog about climate change through the eyes of a layman who recently – finally – got the message that this global warming thing is about to take the world by storm, and nobody’s going to help us if we won’t help ourselves.
